Dieter Rams – A design icon

Dieter Rams is a German industrial designer born in 1932 who has become one of the most recognised and influential industrial designers around today.

To anybody not in the field of product design, you might not know him, or recognise the name… but you’ll recognise his influence on design over the last 60 years.

The Designers Republic – a work placement in the ’90s

A long time ago in a design studio far, far away… well, 1994 in Sheffield to be exact… a young designer was on his final year studying Design Communication and needed to find a 2 week work placement. That designer was Mark Leary, our Creative Director and the studio he approached was the world famous The Designers Republic (tDR).
