After Steve Jobs… some critics feel that Apple is losing its magic touch. Today it made a bold appointment by poaching Angela Ahrendts, the CEO of Burberry. This was swiftly followed by news that Apple have another event coming up next week just as rumoured. The word on the street (from Huggy Bear apparently) is that we might see various new products such as a brand new iPad, but other more crazy rumours are also doing the rounds. Here are some of the best we’ve heard:

iPad 5

Everybody is expecting to see Apple’s brand new iPad make its first official appearance. It has already been seen by some and apparently gone are the tapered edges in favour of straighter, thicker iPad mini style.

iPad mini HD

The pocket size wonder did well when it launched last year. This time, punters are expecting a super sharp retina display and faster performance.

OS X Mavericks

Almost certain to be announced is the new Mac OS. It was first revealed at Apple’s 2013 World Wide Developer Conference on June 10. Nothing about Mountain Lion blew us away, just neat little touches that were ‘a bit’ better than the previous OSX, this time round apparently there will be the addition of the previously iOS-only Maps and iBooks applications, improvements to the Notification Centre, enhancements to several applications, and many under-the-hood improvements.

Mac Pro

News is also expected on the new top of the range Mac Pro (the computer that looks like a coffee maker), we use iMacs, but I guess if you’re editing HD video for instance, this would be the Mac of choice. Not many details are out there about the spec etc, so we would expect to find out the price and when it will be released.

MacBook Pro

No major changes are foreseen for Apple’s laptop range, aside from what’s under the hood. It’s been a while since they’ve had an update, and now could be the time for a redesign. Rumours suggest an ultra-slim 12-inch MacBook with retina display might make an appearance.

An ‘actual’ Apple TV

This for me is one of the craziest rumours… but how good would it be to have a 50″ Apple TV set… awesome… but we doubt it.

Apple smartwatch

Another long shot, but with Samsung making waves in this area, there’s every chance Apple might make their move.

We wait with bated breath, but considering how much we hate iOS7… we’re also a little worried.
